I need advice esp from ART Teacher who's currently working at public school.
I am currently attending college in LA and tryingto change my major into
art education. l think i'm better at doing ceramics/3d
sculpture rather than traditional drawing skills. My
drawing skills are intermediate, but not as professional as other art
educators. Do you think l can be still qualifed to be
art teacher? i need the advice
yeah you can- my PRIVATE SCHOOL art teacher is a bitch and she
can not draw a stick figure. she still has her job- but i reckon shes
psychopathic. go for it- if ur an art teacher u get to do loads more than
just drawing.
Yes, as long as you pocess the passion to be an Art teacher,
you can. Just keep taking art classes and practice. You will also learn
from visiting musems and art galleries. You need to know about all
different types of media. Study the masters, join art associations as
well. Good Luck
I have been an art teacher for over 30 years. Teaching art has
to do with the actual pedagogy of art not how great a drawer you are. You
will have to improve your over all skills in elementary school because you
need to be familiar with many media whereas in junior high/high school you
can focus on one type of media.
